Day Skipper Theory

Fancy taking your navigation skills to the next level?

Then take a look at our popular RYA Day Skipper Theory Course. Our next course is on the 31st October, but more dates are available on request.

The course is run over 5 days at our Quay side water sports centre, in the picturesque fishing village of Teignmouth, Devon.    With accommodation arranged on request, spacious comfortable classrooms and large changing rooms with hot showers, what’s not to love?

The course is run by our highly qualified team, who are recommended and endorsed by Atlantic Campaigns, as we have trained most of the teams who’ve taken part in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Row Challenge (TWAC), as well as other endurance races too.

The course is a great introduction to cruising, equipping you with the knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day as well as giving you an introduction to night-time cruising too.

Why book at SeaSports Southwest

Tim Cox, Centre Principal and Co-owner of SeaSports said, “We appreciate that it can be difficult to take 5 days out of a busy schedule, which is why we arrange and supply everything else for you.  We like to make everyone feel at ease in our spacious and comfortable classroom, at our Devon based centre.  As we are situated right on the quay, the sea is always in sight and we are nestled between some lovely pubs and eateries too.”

As this RYA course involves 40 hours of learning, the course is run over 5 consecutive days at the centre.

SeaSports Southwest supply all of the materials needed, all you have to do is remember to turn up!
