VISITORS TO OUR WEBSITE

When someone visits our website, we use a web collection service, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, the contact form, purchase and booking forms used by yourself with consent, will be our only means of collecting your personal information. In turn, this will not be shared with anyone outside of our organisation, unless this is part of the service you have given consent for.

INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR COMMERCIAL, INSURANCE AND LEGAL PURPOSES FOR PROVIDING OUR SERVICES AND PRODUCTS TO OUR CUSTOMERS

When you buy something on our website, in person, via email or over the phone, we collect personal information from you to fulfill the order. We may collect information like your:

·     Billing and shipping address

·     Details relating to your purchase (for example, your shirt size)

·     Email address

·     Name

·     Phone number

We share this information with Quickbooks for invoicing and financial record reasons, with the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) when required, Mailchimp and  Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us.

We may call or email you with messages about your order or account activity. For example, we may email you to tell you that:

·     You’ve created a customer account

·     Your customer account password has been reset or updated

·     You’ve made a purchase

·     Your order has shipped

 

It’s not possible to unsubscribe from these messages.

We share your contact information with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so they can send these emails to you on our behalf.

As you go through checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience.

All data collected on booking forms, including health and ability is used by us to process your booking and to ensure that we can attend to your health and safety whilst you are with us.

 

INFORMATION FOR SUBSCRIPTIONS TO NEWSLETTERS, UPDATE EMAILS AND MARKETING OF SEASPORTS SOUTHWEST

We will NOT sell, trade or rent your name or personal information to anyone else. We DO NOT sell, trade, rent or provide outside access to our mailing list at all.

If you have agreed to join our mailing list we will also send you information from time to time about upcoming events, promotions and information. You can withdraw your consent to this at any time by email to info@seasportssw.co.uk, or by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. We share your contact information with Mailchimp, our email marketing provider, so they can send these emails on our behalf. 

Photographs. From time to time we may take photographs of participants involved in our activities, both on and off the water. We use these photos for our marketing materials, website and social media and they are also available to you if you would like them. If you do not want your photograph taken and used for these purposes, then please let us know.  

 

INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES

When SeaSports Southwest Ltd receive job applications, we hold these details in a secure manner.  The application forms are deleted or, in the instance of paper copies, shredded and the selection period is completed, unless we have informed you that we will retain your details for future employment opportunities and you have not declined this offer to retain your details.

This information is not shared outside of our organisation and is only shared internally with designated personnel.

All information on current and former employees is managed and maintained in a secure manner.  Should a current or former employee wish to view the data that we hold on them, a formal request is to be made for this information through the owners of the business Sue & Tim Cox.

 

INFORMATION FOR CERTIFICATION PURPOSES

Names and addresses of candidates of certain RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and BC (British Canoeing) courses will be shared with the RYA and BC for the purposes of registering your certification. The data will not be shared with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes without first obtaining your explicit consent.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

Your personal information is owned by you. If you have any questions or issues with the way in which we are using your data you have the following rights:

  • You can ask for information to be corrected
