PHASED RE-OPENING FROM FRIDAY 19TH JUNE

Coronavirus Reopening Poster-01-01.jpg

We are very excited (but cautious) to begin a phased re-opening of our water sports centre, here on the beautiful Teignmouth back beach, on Friday 19th June. BOOKING REQUEST FORM ESSENTIAL

Staff and customer safety is paramount, alongside ensuring that we stick to the government and RYA regulations, which currently only allows for hires and courses that can be carried out in accordance with 2 metre social distancing. As you can imaging this limits the courses that we can run significantly, with the government specifically ruling out any skippered charters or face to face teaching within a 2 metre distance including any shore based courses too (whether held outside or in).

So for PHASE ONE from Friday 19th June, we are planning to:

  • Offer paddle board and kayak hires, as well as some PWC (Jet Ski) courses and potentially some small group paddle board taster sessions too.

  • We will be setting out hourly time slots allowing time in-between for additional cleaning.

  • All equipment and clothing will be cleaned between use (all wetsuits etc have always been sterilised between use anyway) .

  • Only members of the same household on single crafts or within 2 metres of each other.

  • Changing rooms will not be open for use, so please be prepared to change outside the centre i.e. arrive wearing swimwear.

  • Pre-booking is essential via a booking request form and booking 24 hours in advance is recommended.

  • Where possible it is advisable to take own wetsuits and equipment.

  • There will be a slight additional cost, due to the additional cleaning and maintenance involved at the present time.

Phase two we will keep you updated on, as with all of us we are feeling our way through and reacting to the constant changes, in order to do the best we can to keep everyone safe whilst still being able to get you all out on the water.

We are so looking forward to seeing everyone, we just ask for a little patience as we test out our procedures with our paired down team.

Looking forward to catching up soon

Sue, Tim and the SeaSports team.
