ABILITY AT COURSE END: By the end of this course you will have a range of sailing skills and background Knowledge and be well on the way to being a competent small boat sailor.

MINIMUM AGE: 8+ years

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Five days, combining stage 1 & 2. With time to practice in between you can start as a complete beginner and finish as a sailor, all whilst making new friends and having fun along the way.

This option combines all the teaching of RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1 and RYA Youth Sailing Stage 2 with additional time on the water to perfect those crucial techniques. Starting off sailing in pairs sharing the basic controls, by the end of the week you will be able to sail upwind, downwind and across the wind single handed.

The additional time also allows us to cover basic safety and weather knowledge in a little more detail. Students will look at rigging, launching, sailing in all directions in calm conditions. We will also have a look at capsize recovery and essential safety knowledge for budding adventurers and racers!

All of our RYA Youth Scheme teaching is carried in a fun, relaxed environment with a focus on enjoying the session and learning new skills.
