The summer holidays havew been and gone, and this is the first time we have had the time to update the blog!
With the summer courses being full to capacity we have all enjoyed the busy season.
We are now looking forward to running instructors courses in sailing and windsurfing, and land based courses such as basic navigation, day skipper and Yacht Master.
It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that we welcomed John and Gen into the staff team, and now, we are sad to say our farewells to them both at the end of this month. Gen is going out to Canada and John is going to Dahab in Egypt.
Team15 windsurfing has moved to the weekends to allow for the darkening evenings and Divas windsurfing has stopped until next summer, we are however still open and ready!

What a fantastic Easter weekend! The sun shone on us and we had near perfect sailing conditions. We enjoyed our first weekend on the beach and it’s just lovely to be out there the sea was warmer than expected and the water was beautifully clear the kayaking and stand up paddle-boarding were superb.
Bank Holiday Monday saw the beginning of our first Junior Activity Weeks and despite a cooling in the weather day one saw us escorted by our local pod of Dolphins what a treat for our young adventurers. There have been lots of sightings recently so they are hanging around - if that’s what dolphins do. Tim some great pictures on his phone - I will try and post these later.
The last couple of days the easterly wind has seen us up the river ad the kids have been kayaking & windsurfing today including some fun relay races and board dancing!! Powerboat driving yesterday with an Easter egg hunt and a crabbing competition; and having a thoroughly good time, the kids looking forward to the next couple of days sailing. Good to see some familiar faces back and welcome some new ones.
We did our first Paddle & Pizza evening which was a good night and our rapidly getting booked up for the next one on the 23rd April. We are all looking forward to that.
Lots of bookings coming in for all our courses so its looking busy and we love it. Happy Easter to all.

That’s our big news this week! Must be spring now and we offer a big Piratey welcome back to Andy, back where he belongs and joining the SeaSports team as a permanent feature. Tim’s been Abroad this last week (up in Poole) doing an instructors course, so we’ve had to cope without him - welcome back Tim. We have been busy though getting the centre and the boats ready for the new season. Feels like it’s all starting to happen now with bookings coming in and the guys out there teaching!
We are also looking forward to welcoming John and Jen on board for this season, two highly experienced and very well thought of instructors who will be joining us in May for the season, teaching sailing windsurfing & powerboating.
Oh and well done to Bradley our salty sea-dog for getting her picture all over the local rags having a go at stand up paddleboarding. (Tart!)
So 2009 … Bring it on… we cant wait.

Small wave stuff surfing on the sand bar - or just to hire from the beach along side the sit on tops and stuff that we already do. The boards are coming from Tushingham Starboard Thank-you Dave! - Check out the Tushingham website to see what they are all about follow the links from our links page! Welcome to my first ever Blog! Not sure how this is going to work but it seems like a bit of fun.
Well it sure is cold at the moment but that’s not stopping you die hard enthusiasts from getting out there and doing your stuff. And it’s not stopping us either! We are open and working away down here planning lot’s of stuff for the coming season and still getting out on the water! We have had a couple of good fun days with the guys from Dynamic Adventure, they had some bad luck with the weather one day 35 mph winds so sailing was replaced with powerboat training and day 2 winds of about 4mph!! never mind at least you missed the snow and next time we will get the perfect conditions. you deserve it guys!
Well done to all from the Teignmouth sea Cadets who completed the RYA 1st aid course last week.
We are looking forward to the VHF Short Radio course we’ve got planned for the end of the month. Still got some spaces on that.
I had a go at surfing - well you have to do something in an easterly wind in Teignmouth. It was great fun but I think I may not have looked as cool as all that!!
Now for a couple of thank yous to everyone who has helped me my Google ratings crisis all your handy hints were very gratefully recieved and implimented. We are getting there but keep on googleing us as clicks are the way forward.- try not to click on the ads on the right where it says sponsored ad as this costs money eveytime its clicked!
And Finally a big fat thank you to Nathan at Minds eye Marketing who has shown endless patience putting up with all my questions and and messing about! And bags full of talent revamping the website, I’m sure you all agree It looks great.
Tim is off up to the RYA Conference in Bedford this weekend and is looking forward to seeing you all up there. (Snow permitting!)
Well that’s us for now, it would be quite exciting if anyone wants to join me in this blog thing I feel a bit alone here!
