Sailing club funding

We are absolutely delighted to have secured some funding from Sport England to set up a brand new sailing club. Allowing us to maintain our renowned high standards of teaching, low instructor ratios at a cost in line with our windsurfing club which has now been running from the same starting point for the last 5 years.

Welcome The 2013 SeaSports Team;

 Congratulations to Sam and Paul  on gaining their powerboat instructors.  Good to have them back again this year.

Welcome to Jamie - many of you will have met Jamie who has now been with us a couple of months now and has become an integral part of the team. Jamie teaches sailing and windsurfing (to advanced plus) and has also just passed his Powerboat Instructors. Welcome to Julian - a good old Teignmouth Sailor who many locals will already know has so many skills to bring with him and is a great addition to the team. Harry is a senior sailing instructor and will be joining us for the Summer holidays. Mark is heading up the kayakers again but we are desperately looking for another kayak instructor to join him - level 3 sea kayak coach.

Caelib and Eli are also here to help as they train for their instructor qualifications

Atlantic Rowing - If you have been keeping and eye on face book you will have seen that we have been busy with our connections to the Atlantic rowing race, enjoying the official launch at Tower bridge and spreading the SeaSports word. We are enjoying being a part of that.

Adult sailing lessons If you have been wondering about joining us on Wednesday evening for the adult learn to sail course then we have good news - We have decided to reduce the cost of the 10 week course to £300 (saving £90)

Kayak and Paddleboard at Dawlish

Throughout the summer holiday (weather permitting) we are joining forces with Don and Debbie at the Rock Pool Cafe, Coryton Cove, Dawlish.  We will be offering Sit on top kayaks and paddleboards for hire. This is a lovely sheltered location where the Dolphins are often spotted, so why not head over there for some paddling and some good food

Two-day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It includes Close quarters handling, planing manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. The course can be taken inland or on the coast and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.

Safety boat 

This two-day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities.

 Own boat tuition with Tim, either the 2 day RYA level 2 course or just a bit of help getting started and local knowledge. Just Ring and book at Teignmouth or Torquay

We have more adult and youth sailing courses in the diary :

• Youth Stage 4 1st & 2nd June
• Sailing with Spinnakers 9th & 10th June
• Multihull Level 2 15th & 16th June
• 5 day adults learn to sail 17th to 21st June

With Harbour Watersports closing there are no so few places locally to buy quality wetsuits and kit we have expanded our stock of wetsuits and buoyancy aids
