Stand Up Paddle-Boards

This is a fantastic new way to enjoy the water. It’s very easy to pick up and on our trips with an experienced guide you can’t help but have a good time. Paddle down tide to the Coombe Cellars where we stop for a rest and some refreshment while the tide turns then paddle back wit the tide to the Ship in for another rest and refreshment or even a BBQ on the beach.  We are expecting our delivery of brand new paddleboards any time now so if you fancy trying something new and fun call us and book. It’s easy to master so it’s a great idea for an evening out or a party.

We are also now retailing Stand Up Paddle-Boards from Tushingham and Red Paddle co. With the range available to view from SeaSports or online. We are also planning on having an SUP demo day, where you can come along and try different boards and paddle with like-minded people so watch this space for more info.

We are also including SUP’s in this years RNLI Race, more information later in the news page.

 RYA T15 club

Opposite are some of our members with the new boat look out for a write up in the paper next week. Very exciting news is that we are planning to take part in our first race in August giving some of the members their first tast of competitive windsurfing—well done to those taking part in that.

Junior Activities During the Holidays

From 9 am until 4pm we take 8 to 15 year olds and give them the time of their lives; they windsurf, sail, kayak, canoe, stand up paddleboard, they have beach picnic and crabbing competitions, play beach games, learn new skills and very often achieve RYA certification, they make new friends and come home at night happy tired and with a real sense of achievement.   To find out what the children thought of the week check out the testimonial page on the site. Opposite are some of last years youngsters enjoying a sailing lesson>
We also have junior sailing and Windsurfing course running with spaces still available.

Power Boat and Safety boat If you are looking to purchase a powerboat or already own one, the RYA level 1 & 2 powerboat course is a great way to go. This course aims to teach you safe handling of your craft both at low and at high speed!

Shore based courses

Basic navigation course
This course gives a basic introduction to navigation and safety for anyone new to boating; sailors, power-boaters, sea anglers, divers and boat-masters. Also useful for experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers.

Windsurfers

Beginners - we have arranged lots of 2 and 5 day courses over the spring and summer months - so go on and do it it's great fun and a great way to get fit and meet some like minded people while you are at it.

If you are serious about improving your windsurfing book in for an improver clinics—beach starts, getting planing, foot straps, water starts, blasting control, carve gybes. A 2 hour one to one clinic can really help you get to the next level with your windsurfing.

For the sort of grown ups!! Why not treat yourself to a 5 day course over the summer and really get your teeth into a new sport? You will love it! Just ask the kids that have tried it! For the more advanced—One to ones and advanced clinics with Tim always available—go on sort those carve gybes!

Just call to book—when it suits you.

  Paddling News

We have also introduced lots of new courses for our paddlers for 2010 including 5 day combined paddle sports
We have added open canoes and stand up paddle-boards to our fleet. If you have never tried paddle boarding you should; it's easy to get the hang of so yopu can take a paddle on the riverall Amazon style or have a play in the surf out on sandbar which does involve more falling off I have o admit.

Courses coming up for paddlers include:

28th—29th July - BCU 3 star touring kayak/canoe

We also have lots of dates in the diary for introduction to sea kayaking days and sunset river trips.

PWC - Jet ski Training

You are now required to have the Personal watercraft proficency test to launch a jet ski or similar from Teignmouth so we have been very busy with the PWC courses. The one thing that everyone agrees on is that it is a good fun and worth while day.
Pirate & Kayak Parties
Our pirate parties have so far never failed to uncover hidden pirate plunder.
With our Pirate ship, treasure maps and shovels, it’s a pirates life for me!
